Registration is open for AgeWell Day!

Enjoy a morning of fun, learning, and camaraderie at AgeWell Day for Jewish community members 60+. Take a couple of classes, make new friends, and enjoy lunch with your peers. AgeWell Day is December 15th, 2024 and will be held at the Tucson Hebrew Academy (3888 E River Rd).  


PARKING

- Parking in front of T.H.A. is for vehicles with a Handicapped placard ONLY

- Parking in North and Front Lot of the JCC - Free shuttles from parking lots to T.H.A are provided, shuttles start running from 9:15am - 10:30am

- Shuttles AFTER the event from T.H.A. to North and Front parking lots will be from 1:30pm - 2:30pm

- Shuttles will NOT be provided during the program, only before and after


TIMING

- Check-In & Shmoozing is from 9:45am - 10:15am

- Program starts at 10:15am and ends at 2:00pm

- The price includes lunch which will be a hearty salad with various protein options

AgeWell Day is a Collaborative Jewish Community Ecosystem initiative supported by a generous grant from the Community Fund to Support Jewish Elderly and Disabled, managed by the Jewish Community Foundation at JPSA. Please select one (1) class in each session. Some class sizes are limited. 

  • Experience this gentle and fun form of yoga. Seated exercises are perfect for older adults who are new to fitness and exercise experts!

  • Rabbi Yehuda Ceitlin of Chabad Tucson will share teachings and stories of what happens after death.

  • Learn some basic watercolor techniques, and then use them to make some beautiful Hanukkah or other greeting cards to take home with you.

  • Sing and drum along to some Jewish music with two talented musicians - Cantor Janece Cohen and music maker Rami Yadid. Together they will show you how much rhythm we Jews have in us!

  • We’re encouraged to meditate every day, even for a short time, as a way to calm our minds and bodies. This session, led by Rabbi Helen Cohn, will begin with an introduction to basic meditation, then use the technique as a path of blessings.

  • Social Media overview with Ital Ironstone and Nate Weisband. With the help of these two JPSA Young Leadership Managers you with learn how to register and use some popular social media sites, and THA Middle School students will offer hands on help to register, log onto, and use those sites. (Please include list of social media sites you are interested in learning about.)

  • Join Rabbi Malcolm Cohen from Kol Ami as he tells stories and offers ideas about Chanukah which will warm you this Winter.

  • Levia, a former Cybersecurity analyst and educator, will show you how to spot an online threat or attacks before they happen, and what to do when an email or text message looks phishy. You will also leave with some easy steps to protect your identity, passwords, and devices. No matter your technical expertise, or lack thereof, all are welcome! Join us for an informative and enjoyable conversation!
