Please select one (1) class in each session. Some class sizes are limited.

  • Julie will provide creative guidance and supplies to create a fun collage keepsake. Bring photos that you can cut up and decoupage, or choose from the variety of magazines and papers available. You are only limited by your imagination!

  • Jews have dominated the humor industry in the United States for the last century or so. What is it that makes Jewish comedy unique? What elements from our history and collective experience contribute to the fact that so many great comics, and so much of American humor, has a distinctively Jewish flavor? Rabbi Sam Cohon, Congregation Beit Simcha, has hosted The Too Jewish Radio Show and Podcast for over 20 years, and has presented an "Old Jewish Joke of the Week" well over 1,000 times. Hear his exploration of Jewish humor, and some of his best jokes, including (gasp!) some new ones, in this fast-moving presentation.

  • Yes, you can learn Flamenco moves from a seated position! Angelina Ramirez will teach moves that concentrate on the upper body, and also includes wrist rotation and finger dexterity. The music you will get you doing some toe tapping, foot stomping, and moving your legs from a seated position.

  • Explore the dozens of organizations participating in our AgeWell Day Resource Expo. This is an opportunity for you to shul-shop, learn about senior living options, and ask questions of the various health-related organizations represented.

  • Experience this gentle and fun form of yoga with Natalie Carillo. Seated exercises are perfect for older adults who are new to fitness or exercise experts!

  • Explore the nutrition needs of the human body with Ilene Yalen, followed by a deep dive into the pros and cons of some popular diets: the DASH, Keto, Vegetarian, and the Mediterranean diet.

  • Julie will provide creative guidance and supplies to create a fun collage keepsake. Bring photos to cut and decoupage or choose from a variety of magazines and pretty papers that will be available. You are only limited by your imagination!

  • From Sandy Koufax to Shawn Green, from the Olympics to the Maccabiah games, there have been many Jewish sports heroes who we have rooted for and been inspired by. Local meteorologist and former Israeli Olympic baseball team player, Cory Kowitz, will talk about the relationship of Judaism to sports, sports heroes, and how they inspire us.

  • Get creative with Rabbi Sara Metz! She will lead you in a wineglass painting activity while teaching about the significance of grapes and wine in Judaism. All supplies will be provided, except the wine.

  • Qigong is an ancient Chinese mind-body practice that harnesses the power of breath, movement, and intention to create health and balance within the body. Regular practice of qigong is believed to provide many benefits, including building strength, increasing flexibility, balance & coordination, boosting immunity, and reducing stress and anxiety. Alisha Anderson teaches this class that is performed while standing although chairs will be available for help with balance and for sitting; please wear stable and supportive footwear.

  • Levia Nahary, an Internet safety educator and former cybersecurity analyst, returns to AgeWell Day to share valuable tips on staying safe online. Learn how to recognize suspicious emails and text messages, and discover simple steps to protect your identity, personal information, and devices. Whatever your level of technical expertise, everyone is welcome! Join us for an engaging and informative discussion—this will be a brand-new session, not a repeat of the last Age Well Day.

  • “Because I could not stop for death”, wrote Emily Dickinson, “He kindly stopped for me.” Judaism provides a vast resource of customs and rituals which are ours to observe, which offer comfort and understanding when death has stopped for family members or friends. We will explore the origins, meanings and observances that are familiar as well as those that may be unfamiliar.
